This city is situated along the southern edge of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Across the water views of the historic McCullough Bridge can be admired. North Bend has multiple parks, a historical downtown area, and the coast's biggest indoor shopping mall.

Pony Village Mall features more than 60 retail stores and restaurants. Macy's, J.C. Penney, Sears, and Big-5 Sporting Goods serve as the mall's anchor stores. The city is surrounded by multiple beaches and parks great for recreational activities including camping, fishing, bicycling, hunting, surfing, off-roading, horseback riding, canoeing, and much more. Children of North Bend attain a quality education by attending school in the North Bend School District. The District has two elementary schools including Hillcrest Elementary and North Bay Elementary. Children are then brought together to attend North Bend Junior High School and proceed to North Bend High School.
